Summer Adventures

I've spent the last week in PA with the family cleaning out Mommom's house and it was a CRAZY time let me just tell you. Of course, it was a ton more work and a ton more emotional stress than anyone imagined, but it got done and the house is sold. Some new couple moved in (2 1/2 hours after closing, because we were still there!) and hopefully they will have as many wonderful memories as we had there!

So, so, so many memories! We enjoyed many birthdays and many holidays sitting around the kitchen and dining room with our crazy family! It'll be sad not being able to come "home" again.

Our last holiday- Father's Day! We took my dad out to eat and enjoyed some time together :)

One funny story to share with you before I end this post...See my uncle there in the background- he lives in Hawaii and he's a collector of many things (that's the nice way of saying, he can't throw anything out!!!) and this is the car he bought last summer for $500. He kept the car here all year and was trying to sell it this trip for $1800! Can you imagine? Anyways, he did end up selling it for $1500 to some Mexican landscapers and he threw in 2 mattresses (which he found on the side of the road). This picture doesn't quite do it justice, but under that tarp is 1 mattress and 2 huge Rubbermaid bins full of "stuff" and the entire trunk and back seat were full of boxes of stuff he bought/found/inherited during this trip that he is mailing to Hawaii! I bet the Post Office LOVED him!!! Anyways, that car had many nicknames, including the "Kona-crusier" and the "Sanford and Son Mobile." I know that every family has their quirks, but being family, I guess we will always love them anyways!

After all this was said and done, my mom and I headed out Friday and enjoyed a very yummy and very relaxing (and very earned) lunch at Shady Maple in Lancaster. If you've never been, you have to go, it's awesome!!!

More adventures to come...the traveling is quite done yet!
