Last week, our 5th graders went to Baltimore on our field trip and we had an amazing day! It was absolutely beautiful out and it was a perfect day!
First, we went to the National Museum of Dentistry- it sounds dorky, I know...but it was actually really cool! Lots of interesting facts and cool memorabilia. Including George Washington's not-so-wooden teeth...
He really wore the ones on the left and the others were models they made based on those he wore.
After the museum, we walked over to Camden Yards and got a behind the scenes tour of the park. We got to walk down and sit in the dug out BUT we could NOT step on the grass! I felt like I was in college when we could get in trouble for walking on the grass! The grass was done perfectly and I can understand why no one can walk on it, but they do cut it EVERYDAY, so why couldn't we?? :) The kids thought the park was so cool and they did such a great job of representing our school! We couldn't have asked for a better day! We learned all about Babe Ruth on our tour and saw the house where he was born, I had no idea he was such a famous Baltimorian! His parents actually had a bar in the same place where Oriole Park now stands. It was a very fun, but very informative day! It was good to see some of the places here that make Baltimore famous!
