HIS plan...: Thankful...

So this morning, one of my fellow teachers (who makes me laugh every time I talk to her!), led devotions by having us get on our knees (who does that anymore?) and give THANKS for the many blessings we have in our lives. Not share prayer requests, not tell about the worries or concerns in our lives, just give THANKS! And it's not even November :) LOL! It was a great start to the day and it really did give me an insight into some of the teachers' lives that I don't know very well. It amazed me to hear some of these women give thanks for their children, their self-less husbands, their students, the weather, MACA, etc. It was definitely a great way to start the day! Now...what will I do next week when I'm in charge of devotions...

The day continued and I did a similar activity (we didn't get on our knees) with my students. It was interesting to hear what they were thankful for...mostly their family, some the school, some the weather, and even 1 thanked the Lord that his birthday was coming! The same kid who's told me about every birthday in his family lately! It's become a big joke lately, but it is funny how big of deal birthdays are to some kids :) After all the kids were done, 1 of the boys raised his hand wildly and so I called on him and he said he had 1 more thing so I told him to go ahead and he thanked the Lord for me! How funny! I love these kids! And really, they are good, sweet kids! God has blessed me!!

As the day went on, many things have been weighing on my heart and my thoughts, and I've been trying to give them over to the Lord and not too worry about them. I posted something on Facebook about being unsure of some things and asking the Lord to show me what's right and I was overwhelmed by my sweet friends and their concern for me. I am SOOOOOOO thankful that God has blessed me with these sweet friends all over the country! God is so good!
