Samples, Deals and Coupons

Sooooo, this week I've received several of the free samples I signed up for :) YAY!! I haven't tried them all, but I did try the new Purex 3-in-1 laundry detergent that I received. You can get your free sample here.

I compared it to my normal laundry detergent and my dryer sheets. The Purex load SMELLS amazing! It feels pretty soft and I would have to say that they are pretty convenient :) Are they worth the extra money? Not sure about that- seems like a lot for these little dryer sheet things, but they would be good for traveling, camping, etc. Overall, I would say they are pretty decent little things though!

Next, I tried this snack/protein bar from ZonePerfect. That was not such a good experience. I've tried protein bars like that before and never been a big fan, but was hoping this one would be better. Sadly, NOPE! I only ate a few bites and threw the rest away! Oh, well, you win some and you lose some.

I have also gotten 2 different shampoo/conditioner samples and I'm pretty excited about using them the next time I travel. Hopefully, they'll be good to my hair :) I've got a few other things too so we'll see how they work for me later.

Ok, now, onto, the deals and coupons... I've been reading blogs, clipping and printing coupons, and looking at my Safeway flyer and finally, came up with a game plan to go food shopping this afternoon after school. I bought A LOT of stuff and didn't pay very much!!! Thanks to great coupons, sales (5 for $5 deals!) and a gift card courtesy of my dad :) At first, I almost had a heart attack when my bill came up $118 (or something crazy like that!) and then with the Safeway card and with all my coupons (lots were doubled!) and the gift card, I came away spending $10 on groceries!!! YAHOO!!! My receipt says I saved $57 just with the Safeway card and the sales! Then $10 with coupons! A savings of 44%! That's absolutely ridiculous! Just goes to show- shop the same stores with their card and plan your meals around their sales! I'm looking forward to lots of yummy salads this week and some yummy spinach-stuffed pork chops! I'm getting hungry thinking about them :) Can you guess what was on sale? LOL! Hopefully, I won't have to buy much for the next few weeks except for milk (for my Cafe con Leche, of course) and some fruit :)
