A visitor :)

This weekend my DAD got to come and visit!

This was from this summer- somehow I didn't take any pictures this weekend :(

We had a very relaxing time together and I'm reminded of how great my parents are! I know that it's been hard on them to see both their kids grow up, leave home, and never return to their house- not to mention their state- Keith's in PA and I was in FL and now here in MD. But, they've taken it in stride and have adjusted over the last several years. They love us and have always supported us in our decisions (even if they don't like them- aka me moving to Alabama!). This past week my dad spent several days visiting his mom, then Keith and Brooke, then finally to me :)

He came Friday afternoon and we hung out watching the Olympics and enjoying yummy deer steaks and potatoes! Then Saturday morning, he decided he needed to shovel a wider path from my door to the carport (even though I'd been living with my crooked little path for a week!) and then we unloaded the entire bed of his truck that was filled with stuff my mom had sent him with from my old room. Including 2 new (to me!) pieces of furniture- my chest full of stuff from growing up and then a baker's rack. She also sent along all my scrapbooks, pictures,  books, and my baby book :)

I'll have to get some pictures of all my new stuff, but it's fun decorating for FREE! God is good! I had looked into buying a baker's rack or some type of shelf for my kitchen when I first moved here, but once I got my first paycheck and it wasn't quite enough, it's had to be on the back burner. But, finally, I have one- now I just need to decorate/organize it the way I want it to be.

I got some new prints with verses on them too and they have been so encouraging every time I look at them, you can see Sara's other things here. She went to MBBC too, but I never knew her (she's just a little older than me!). She has a great talent and I love her paintings. My dad patiently went with me to find frames for them and then onto Wal-mart, Kohls, Safeway, etc. All the usual Saturday places :) And we ended the day with dinner and a movie. We saw Avatar and I have to admit, I did it for him, but it was actually really good!

On a side note...today my kids were trying to figure out how old I am and they're pretty funny when they try to guess. Some said 23! (Gotta love those ones!) and others said 33! (Do I really look 5 yrs older???) But, they were trying to figure it out...well only a few more months till they find out for sure- I always tell them on the last day of school :) Gotta love these kids! They're so sweet!
