Friends and Prayers...

There's been a lot going on here at the Houston house and I can't share everything yet...maybe eventually...but not right now.
These last few days have been difficult and yet, we have felt the peace of God! We are amazed by the outpouring of love and support and prayers from our friends and family. We have been continually pointed to Christ and the fact that He has a perfect plan for our lives...it's true, but still hard to accept sometimes, especially when things don't go the way we want.
Yesterday, as I was praying, God brought to mind Psalm 23, we usually associate these verses with death, but there is so much more!

The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.

He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

I'm so thankful to have a Savior that loves us and who cares about us...I really don't understand how people go through difficult times without the Lord! God has blessed us with amazing family and amazing friends who have been amazing prayer warriors!
