| This was what the hill looked like BEFORE a day's worth of clipping, pulling weeds, chainsawing roots, laying down new dirt and general HARD work! |
Our goal this summer is to get the outside in shape! Last year we worked on a lot of details on the inside, but the outside was neglected. We've been busy weeding, clipping, planting and cleaning up. So far we're pretty happy with the results of our hard work, but we really hope that our little seedlings that were doing so well in pots, do just as well now that they're in the ground!

| This is what the hill looked like AFTER we worked ALL day! No more crazy shrub with it's roots all over the hill! |
| Our little seedling pots got planted in our newly laid dirt and peat moss. We're hoping the Wildflowers take over the hill and it will soon be covered in brightly colored flowers! |
| These are our little marigolds! Hopefully, we'll actually see some flowers on these in the near future! |
| This weekend's project was the pathway. We laid down the stones and pebbles and made a nice little path to the back deck area. |
A note to other gardeners out there, PLEASE do not layer black plastic under all your dirt and plants! It's a crazy mess when it starts to fall apart! I kept raking and raking and digging only to find more and more and more black plastic!!! It's horrendous to work with! And the people who lived here before must have had stock in black plastic because it's EVERYWHERE!
Hopefully later in the summer, I can show you a beautiful, colorful hill!
